One
of IICS’s special fields of expertise is flexible
pipe production. The firm’s founder, Mr. Jorn Albjerg, developed his
experience over the last two decades, primarily from working with clients as a
key account manager and senior surveyor with Bureau Veritas (BV) - Denmark,
covering all of the flexible pipe business.
In
addition to having an in-depth knowledge of all stages of pipe production, end
fitting termination, factory acceptance test - FAT, and data book review; Mr.
Albjerg also gained extensive experience in all aspects of pipe testing,
working within the rules and guidelines of API 17J and API 17B. A part of his
duties related to the Type Approval Certification (TAC), which he co-authored.
All test procedures and reports under the TAC were reviewed and approved by Mr.
Albjerg as the BV representative.
Working
in depth with such tasks naturally builds an extensive knowledge of NKT
Flexibles I/S working procedures and their quality control/assurance systems. These
QA/QC systems have to meet the requirements of API 17J and the client, as well
as the client’s API/ISO quality certification requirements. Our inspectors thus
continuously work to secure the knowledge gained from each project, enabling
them to apply that knowledge to other relevant projects in the future.
This,
of course, means that IICS are used to working in close relationship with
clients and their representatives, and fully understand the need to establish
good, clear, and efficient lines of communication.
IICS
is without exaggeration the most experienced Scandinavian inspecting entity
relating to pipe production and testing of NKT pipes. Over the last decades
IICS inspectors have been involved in more than 50 projects covering more than
200 pipes.
